Different species for Roleplaying Characters.
I'm not sure if this is just me, but I am getting bored of my characters being just plain ordinary humans. I want to have a character that's a Tengu or other intelligent species, like Wardens or Jade Fish. You wouldn't be any stronger than a regular character, but you could NOT be male or female as there is no apparent difference between Tengu males and females, and otherwise with Wardens, Jade Fish, etc. You would be able to play all professions on the alternate species.
Creatures like Jade Fish, which don't have humaniod form, would have to be modded into a biped for use by Roleplaying Characters. Simply so they would not be any larger than humans, but would still have a large indifference from regular humans.
This would have to be a rather large update, because you would have to add many new armor sets and things like that. Tengu, Wardens, and other species, would wield their weapons differently than humans would. OR, another option would be to give them the same armor as male of the same profession.
Please post your opinions, constructive criticism, or ideas for other species and things like that. If I see a good idea, i'll quote it and put it in the first post.

...Search much?
Of course it's not just you, if you had searched before you posted, you would realize that this idea has been thrown up and shot down several times, and it's getting quite repetitive.

There was a thread about having different species to play, but this Search Function sucks at finding things.
If I remember correctly, Anet said they wouldn't introduce other species to play.

Never crossed your mind that "race" is another word for "species"? Obviously you didn't search very hard, there's a few threads about this on the first few pages, if I'm not mistaken.
I seriously hope you're right Hidden...more races/species in GW would change to game too drastically, people should stop suggesting it and go play a different game.

I think species is actually alot more accurate than race, race is pretty interchangeable between ethnicity and species.
The search function doesn't work worth a crap, but you probably would have realized it has been discussed if you read the compilation of suggestions sticky. IMO people shouldn't badger others to use search, it never even works when I try to use it. The moderators should redesign, improve and update the Compilation of Suggestions and refer all new posters to that before they start posting in these forums.
They can even set up a hyperlink that sends all new writers to the Compilation of Suggestions when they select new thread for the first time in the Suggestion Forums, that way they wouldn't have to look for it.
